Necro Help
Hi, I'm fairly new to guild wars and I've never played a Necro. I want a Necro build that is fun to play, both PVE and PVP, that's capable of soloing yet helpful to the party. The great thing about Guild Wars is that you can respec in a blink of an eye, but you can only respec as far as your secondary will allow. So I was wondering, what kind of secondaries would you guys recommend?
I know of course theres the ever popular N/Mo....but how about a N/R that uses a bow or traps to aid his minions?
I know I want to play a MM in solo pve....but as far as support goes and pvp goes, MM's aren't always the best choice, right? (Well maybe MM's could work with support...)
Any Advice?

For soloing in PvE, N/Mo is by far the most popular choice because of its self healing ability and the ability to keep and maintain massive amounts of minions, which are very important to keeping you alive while soloing.
I personally am soloing the game with my N/Me, and it's difficult to say the least for that very reason. However, I know that N/Me's are much better suited to PvP play than N/Mo's, and I eventually want to use my Necro for that purpose (and am too plain lazy/cheap to switch secondaries and go purchase/acquire those secondary skills).
The others are definitely worth looking into, but in doing PvE solo you might be a bit handicapped unless you bring henchmen. A N/R trapper is a good idea, but you gotta realize that bone horrors will charge the target making your traps useless until you get bone fiends. I always thought a N/E would be pretty sweet, especially considering how AoE effects can cause your enemies to scramble away from you and possibly retrigger aggro on your minions. N/W just doesn't appeal to me at all, but you can look at some of the builds on the forum to make up your mind for yourself.

Well I'm going through more than once to aquire skills for every class, right now I have an E/Me, R/W and Mo/N...I just find that healing is kinda boring (not to mention hard to do well)..so I'd rather play a N primary instead of secondary.
I was looking around, I found some builds for N/Mo pvp....I kinda wanna PVP with my PVE character rather than starting a PVP character, or else I would just make 2 necros, one N/Mo for PVE and one N/Me for PVP....I've also seen PVP builds that didn't use the secondary, which is good news for me cuz then it won't really matter what secondary i pick....i dunno...
I heard that pvping with a pve character is better....I don't know why, access to better stuff?

Correct, and for the simple fact that you have practiced with that character in PvE, so you're familiar with some of their capabilities (although, granted, PvP is vastly different in strategy).
By the way, you don't need to create TWO characters (i.e. a N/Mo and a N/Me)...there are quests in the desert that allow you to switch your secondary. So, you can play PvE with Necro as a N/Mo, and then when you feel like PvPing, it simply takes going back to the desert and switching your secondary really quick to something like N/Me.
I'm sure there are very viable PvP builds for a N/Mo...I just love the versatility of a N/Me in PvP though.

Yeah but I'm like you...Im too cheap and lazy to be getting all those mesmer skills after I just went through the game with a N/Mo, lol. And I didn't mean running through pve with 2 necros, that'd just be silly. For the N/Me I would just assemble it in PVP mode...cuz I've already got an Ele/Me that's unlocking the Me skils.
Oh and I read something about someone playing MM in PvP....is that possible? Would you have enough corpses to make that effective?
